Questions people ask us
Have a question we have not answered? Ask us and we will add it here.
No. A pledge records your wish. Donation after death depends on medical suitability and, in India, the consent of your family at the time. Telling your family is the most important step after registering.
There is no fixed upper age limit. Suitability is decided medically at the time of donation. Minors can pledge with the consent of a parent or guardian.
No. The team treating you is entirely separate from the transplant team, and donation is considered only after death has been declared under the legal procedure.
Most major faiths regard organ donation as an act of compassion and generosity. If you are unsure, speak with your religious adviser.
Buying or selling organs is illegal in India under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act. Donor families bear no cost for the donation procedure.
Only the NOTTO portal records an official organ pledge. Forms on this website let you contact the foundation, volunteer or ask for help; they are not a pledge.
