Pledge Your Organs
Your choice can gift a new beginning to someone in need. One donor can save up to eight lives and improve many more through tissue donation.
A promise, recorded in your name
An organ pledge is a voluntary statement of your wish to donate organs and tissues after death. In India the pledge is recorded in the national registry maintained by the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
A pledge is not binding on its own. At the time of donation, the consent of your family is still sought, which is why telling them about your decision matters as much as registering it.
Four steps
Learn what organ and tissue donation involves and decide that you wish to donate after death.
Complete the donor pledge on the NOTTO portal. You receive a donor card you can carry.
Share your decision with the people who would be asked for consent, so your wish is honoured.
Keep your card, update details if they change, and help others understand the choice.

The conversation that makes a pledge real
Your family gives the final consent at the time of donation, so a pledge they know about is one that can be fulfilled.
Explain why the decision matters to you and answer questions openly. Our team can join the conversation if you would like support.
Keep your donor card where it can be found, and let a close relative know where it is.
